The
art and science of the homeopathic consultation is in finding
remedies which are unique to the condition of the patient, acting
solely on the root of
the problem and not indiscriminately affecting the surrounding
area.
We are dealing
here with infinite small doses of
remedies, derived from plants, the animal kingdom, even from
minerals and salts. During the homeopathy consultation the
reaction of the patient to disease is explored and documented.
Similarities
with the expression of homeopathic remedies are given careful
attention. As an example we note the toxic effect of the
plant fox glove. If this plant is consumed by a healthy person
acute
heart failure will take place. Yet if a patient reports
to the emergency room with acute heart failure, and without having
consumed
fox glove, the doctor will often prescribe digitalis. The
usual
dose is 1/10 of 1/1000 of one gram. It happens to be that
the Latin name for fox glove is digitalis. In the homeopathy
consultation
we apply this principle towards hundreds of remedies catalogued
in the repertoire. The main instrument in the Homeopathy
Consultation is this repertoire, of which there are several.
The patient’s
reaction to the remedy is important and this is why there
is always a follow up homeopathy consultation to explore the
tendencies
to disease of the person, and therefore it is an important
tool in metabolic and preventative medicine.
The homeopathic consultation is an important part of naturopathic
medicine and holistic care. Again, in homeopathy we see that
no two cases are the same, even if they react to a similar remedy.
Infinite small doses of medicines, botanicals, minerals, and
other substances create a curative response in the biological
terrain, without the toxic side effects which we observe often
with the drugs administered in the realm of contemporary medicine.
Homeopathic consultations offer a non invasive, non-toxic, approach
in the naturopathic medical holistic health care system, deserving
recognition as a special branch of energy medicine.
