The quality of the heart beat tells us a lot about the body's
health. Examination of the heart beat therefore allows us to
detect damage and disease both in the heart and in the rest of
the body.
The
Echo cardiogram-health analysis provides a graphic description
of
the sound generated
by the
blood running
through
the atria
and ventricles of the heart. This moving image is presented
on a video screen. An echo cardiogram differs from an ECG. It
provides functional data
about
the cardiovascular
status. Introduced by Standard Laboratories, the echo cardiogram
assesses the quality of the heart beat, the closure of the
mitral and tricuspid valves, and the opening of the pulmonary
valves,
and the aortic valves, at which time the systolic contraction
of the heart begins.
In the interpretation of the echo cardiogram
we pay attention particular to the synchronicity of these events.
Research has shown, that the synchronicity of these events
is closely related to the nutrition status of the body. The echo
cardiogram provides data about the relaxation phase of the
heart,
the diastole, at which time the heart muscle ought to be relaxed
in anticipation of the next contraction. Retinal photography,
a method whereby the fine capillaries in the retina are viewed
by means of a Topcon retinal camera, provides data which support
the use of nutritional supplements to enhance heart function.
Hence the importance of the Echo cardiogram in health analysis.
